Which one
If you are building a pool anyway and want the spa to look like part of it, build it in. If you want a spa quickly, or you might move, or the garden layout may change, buy a portable unit.

Water volume is small, so chemistry moves quickly. High temperature accelerates chlorine loss and scale formation.
Jet arrangement
Cheap builds put jets in a row at seat level, which does very little. Number of jets matters less than placement and the air blower balance.

What to check before work starts
The existing pool or room should be inspected as a complete system. Visible damage may sit beside a separate problem in the pipework, controls, waterproofing or ventilation. A written scope should identify the affected parts and state which surrounding surfaces need protection or opening.
Any new system should be checked against the electrical supply and the existing controls. Cable routes, isolation and waterproof connections belong in the scope before the pool finish is opened.
