Nylon bristles for tiled and fibreglass pools. Stainless steel bristles for plaster and concrete only. Steel on a tiled pool scratches the glaze and steel on fibreglass ruins the gelcoat.
Vacuuming
Manual vacuuming through the skimmer is fine for routine work. For heavy debris after a sandstorm, vacuum to waste using the multiport valve so the dirt bypasses the filter entirely.
You lose water doing it, and it beats clogging the filter bed.
What to skip
Suction-side automatic cleaners that plug into the skimmer. They steal flow from the skimmer, they get stuck on corners, and in Dubai's dust they need emptying constantly.
Chemical dispensers shaped like animals. They dose unevenly and the tablet sits against one part of the pool wall bleaching it.

A brush with a wide head, because you will be brushing more often than a pool owner in a milder climate.

Dubai heat, dust and strong sunlight change pool water quickly. Swimming pool maintenance needs regular testing and a clean circulation system. Chemical treatment works properly only when the pump and filter are doing their part.
What to check before work starts
The existing pool or room should be inspected as a complete system. Visible damage may sit beside a separate problem in the pipework, controls, waterproofing or ventilation. A written scope should identify the affected parts and state which surrounding surfaces need protection or opening.
The maintenance approach should match the pool finish and the installed equipment. Salt systems, automatic dosing and standard chlorination have different service needs, while shaded pools behave differently from exposed pools.
